Shoulders
When you have a rotator cuff problem, you may find yourself hiking your shoulder up towards your ear when you try and use your injured arm. When this happens the muscles around your shoulder can become imbalanced. We can help you to learn the proper exercises to help restore muscular balance as much as possible. This is important whether or not you have surgery. Scapular stabilization exercises and rotator cuff re-education can be done at home and we can teach you this. |

Hips
After your hip replacement, you may find it the muscles surrounding your hip to be weak, and a daunting task to strengthen. We can help you to learn traditional and functional exercises at home that will you to strengthen these weak muscles. Stronger muscles will help you to rise from seated position easier, ascend and descend stairs easier, improve your balance and may help you to walk in a more normal fashion. |

Knees
It is not unusual for your knee to feel stiff following your knee replacement procedure. Your spouse or family members may not be comfortable or confident enough to help you to bend and straighten your knee, which is required to improve your knee movement. We can help you with your stretching exercises to maximize your knee range of motion. Improved knee range of motion can help you with activities of daily living such as standing, walking, going up and down stairs etc. |
